Flux 2 Max is now the default image model on Supervivid. The quality baseline moved

On identical prompts, Flux 2 Max against the base Flux 2 is not a subtle comparison. Skin has pores instead of plastic sheen. Fabric has weave. Backlit hair separates into strands rather than a glowing blob. Hands — the eternal tell — are correct so consistently that we stopped counting failures during evaluation.

Typography deserves its own mention. Flux 2 Max renders paragraphs of legible text, holds a specified font style, and keeps lettering coherent on curved surfaces like bottles and mugs. Poster design, packaging mockups, and UI screenshots are now realistic use cases rather than party tricks.

Conversational editing

The bigger shift is what happens after the first render. Select any generation and keep talking:

Flux 2 Max applies the change while leaving composition, lighting logic, and untouched subjects intact. Under the hood this is not inpainting with a mask — the model re-reasons about the whole scene with your instruction as a constraint. In practice it means the workflow becomes iterative the way real art direction is: rough in the idea, then push and pull details until it is right.

A few edits we have seen work reliably:

  • Relighting — “overcast instead of sunny”, “neon signage as the only light source”
  • Wardrobe and props — “give her a denim jacket”, “replace the coffee with matcha”
  • Season and time — “same street in winter”, “shift to blue hour”
  • Style transposition — “as a watercolor”, “as a 1980s film photo”

One more thing: consistent characters

Upload three to five reference photos of a person, product, or mascot, and Flux 2 Max will place that exact subject in any scene you describe. Combined with conversational editing, this closes the loop for brand work — the same character, product bottle, or founder headshot across an entire campaign, art-directed image by image.
